Unique Beauty

This series I have created is about body image and all sizes, shapes, and characters of beauty. I admire these for ladies, two of which are mothers, for the confidence in themselves. When I called out for models they jumped on board and were enthusiastic about my concept. Right away they were willing and ready to show off their bodies, stretch marks, perfections, and imperfections. They really worked it! Here is just a little sneak peak of some of the shots captured during our session 🙂

I wanted to show a before and after of this recent series. I really enjoyed creating Fashion images that consisted of a patterned overlay. This is one of my favorites. In my opinion overlay made a world of a difference in the end result.

EMILY GRAY

One of my dearest friends, Emily Gray, well actually she is my dearest friend, but anyways she is an awesome art student! Emily attends IPFW and really is in a bind on what to pursue. She really loves art and is very good at the craftsmanship that comes with art unlike me and takes alot of time perfecting her pieces. She is always doing extrodinary things and is very passionate about every projects! Well anyways here is some of Emily’s current printmaking projects which I think are totally awesome!! She is the art in my life!

Fallen Firefighter

In Honor of Nate Mills, a fallen fire fighter who passed away this past weekend after a long battle of cancer, I decided to share a few images that I captured and some of Mill’s funeral. I never got the opportunity to meet Mr. Mills although I wish I had as I have heard he was an amazing man. He was a great friend of my fathers and many others on the department.

The fire department is an amazing team to be apart of. I was so inspired and amazed by the love and support the fire department showed one of their brothers. Over 150 fireman in uniform showed up to his funeral and many others stood outside along the road in uniform in honor of Nate Mills as his casket riding on Engine 1 passed by.

The brotherhood within the fire department is something that does not go unnoticed.

Curves in bikinis!

I am truly inspired everyday through Facebook, news and media! Curves are a big topic in Americas society right now and my senior project could not have been any more perfect in timing! Ashley Graham is a size 16 plus size model who is featured in Sports Illustrated! Her interview and images are so inspiring and remind one to embrace the body you were given and who you are! Absolutely love this ❤

Jade Beall

Recently I had a lovely discovery of Jade Beall and The Beautiful Body Project. I was intrigued to this body of work right away and as I read more into it, I loved it even more.

Jade Beall captures true body image after birth and the stress marks that don’t erase in a series called The Bodies of Mothers. She finds beauty in these bodies and says that she is fond of these marks representing life and their motherhood. Beall creates beautiful, intimate images of mothers alone and with their children in celebration of the reminders of pregnancy. These stretch marks are the evidence of the amazing power of the female body. Beall creates these images in hopes to change the assumption that many woman have about their stretchmarks and postpartum bodies being unacceptable and that celebrities are to blame for this conception. I find Beall’s work to be beautifully inspiring as she captures these stretch marks in a unique, beautiful and confident way. I believe that Beall is giving a new meaning and view to stretch marks..

Women’s Body Types

This video touches base perfectly and inspires me even more in the creation of my senior project! I love the diverse case of models and the presentation of how the standard of beauty has changed throughout the years. At what time in our life’s is the idea of beauty programmed into our minds? And how far will one go to achieve this look. In today’s society it is not uncommon to go through plastic surgery, have unhealthy eating habits, and undergo waist training to achieve the idea of beauty. Perhaps one day society will define beauty as what is in the inside rather than the out. Lets make the change!

Recently I have been very intrigued and inspired by the works of Miss Kendall Jenner. Kendall who is apart of the famous family the Kardashians has made a name for herself in the fashion world as she takes over the runways! Kendall, at only 19 years of age, has featured in many well-known magazines such as Vogue, Interview, Dazed and Confused ,Givenchy, and Love Magazine and catwalked for Estee Lauder, Chanel, Givenchy and Marc Jacobs!
